Bletchley Park revisited (6): The Cottages

The Cottages were the first active site within Bletchley Park and housed the first codebreakers.

It was here that the Polish codebreakers, Marian Rejewski, Henryk Zygalski and Jerzy Różycki, came just a few months before the outbreak of World War 2 to share their pioneering work on breaking the German code systems. It was this visit, and their work, which laid the foundation for much of the success that the residents of Blethcley Park would have over the following years.
In remembrance of their contribution a memorial to the Polish Code-breakers and their work was erected in the courtyard of the cottages
